GRSPSociety is an open network of organizations and individuals committed to advancing Romania's development and modernization through civic involvement and professionalism. GRSPSociety aims to serve as a networking platform and develop projects focused on Romania through our working groups.
The GRSPSociety working groups are the main functional units of GRSPSociety. They are virtual communities that allow their members to interact on the basis of their academic and professional interests. They serve as a forum for interaction and debate and give their members opportunities for collaborating on projects within their field of interest as well as developing themselves professionally.
Currently, GRSPSociety has 9 working groups: ARCADIA- International Cooperation and Development, Business and Finance (WG-BF), Culture and Arts (WG- CA), Democracy and Participation (WG-DP), Education and Research (WG-ER), Health and Medical Research (WG-HM), International Migration (WG-IM), Public Administration and Public Policy (WG-PA/PP), Romania’s Image Abroad (WG- RO).
The executive team – President, Vice President of External Relations, Vice President of Internal Development, Treasurer and Secretary General President – is elected by the GRSPSociey general assembly for one-year terms to vote on and implement organizational strategy while the Advisory Board is a group of eminent and experienced professionals nominated by the executive board who provide periodic feedback on organizational strategy.
GRSPSociety has three types of membership:
• Associate members (the members at large, present on Facebook, LinkedIn, yahoogroups, etc). Currently, the number of members on Facebook has reached more than 1000. At the same time LinkedIn numbers 110 members, while the Yahoo groups have a total of 250 members until the present moment.
• Active members are those constantly involved in the departments and in the projects initiated by the working groups. Only active members have the right to vote at general meetings when the Executive Board is elected.
• Founding members are those who have legally initiated GRSPSociety.
• Collective members (other organizations that are part of the GRSPSociety network such as RHIYS)
• Members of honor are remarkable personalities who joined our association as Members of the Advisory Board. http://www.grspsociety.org/advisory-board
There are two main ways to become an active member. You can get involved in the different projects initiated by the working groups by joining an existing project team or contacting the GRSPSociety board or a working group chair with a proposal to initiate your own project within one of the GRSPSociety working groups. You can also join the executive team of GRSPSociety by joining one of the three GRSPSociety departments (Fundraising, Communications and Human Resources), offering assistance to the executive board, or becoming a board member or working group chair when these positions are open.
On average, active members should commit between 3-4 hours per week to GRSPSociety activities.
All GRSPSociety members, including its leadership team, work on a voluntary basis.
Due to foreign members in our Advisory board English is our second language of communication.
